“For everything there is a season and a time for every matter under heaven,
A time to listen and a time to speak, A time to be confident and a time to be bleak.
A time for new and a time for old, A time to be timid and a time to be bold.
A time to win and a time to lose, A time for soul and a time for blues.
A time to keep and a time to throw away, A time for work and a time for play.
A time to laugh and a time to cry, A time to live and a time to die.”
The Wheel of the Year is constantly changing, Birth, Life, Death, Rebirth. And it’s not just the seasons that are changing but the subtle underlying energies of Mother Earth, and whether you are aware of it or not we are all affected by these changes and by working with these energies and not fighting against them we learn to live in harmony and balance with ourselves and our surroundings.
The Wheel of the Year is divided into 8 sections.
2 Solstices, Yule and Midsummer or Litha.
2 Equinoxes, Vernal -Ostara and Autumnal-Mabon.
4 Fire Festivals Imbolc, Beltane, Lughnasadh and Samhain
Although we say there are 8 divisions the Wheel will move gently and easily through each season. Its energies blending and shifting.
We will walk the Wheel of the year together.
As the Festivals approach I will explain them to you. Please contact me with your thoughts.
IMBOLC
THE VERNAL EQUINOX OR OSTARA
BELTANE
LITHA OR MIDSUMMER
LUGHNASADH OR
LAMMAS
MABON
SAMHAIN
YULE
Spokes and Spirals
Time spins slowly
Holding us in its spiral
Ever evolving.
We dance the seasons and the
Hours, We sing the Moon’s changes.
Each day brings new lessons.
Each month means new magic.
Let them come, let them go.
Open your mind to the spin.
Free the mind and
The heart must follow.
Hear the Moons melody
Echoing, time turning towards the
Yoke of death and rebirth.
Embrace transformation.
All things, in the end,
Return to the source.
